What Happened in a 10-Minute Ride

I was taking a taxi to the airport. We chatted about work, life, the usual. With ten minutes to go, I asked one more question — and that's where the story begins.

What Happened in a 10-Minute Ride
Sometimes, God changes a life in just a ten-minute car ride. I was taking a taxi to the airport. Like I usually do, I struck up a conversation with the driver — work, daily life, how things are going these days. Midway through, I glanced at my phone. Ten minutes to the airport. And then I asked him something: “Have you ever been to church?” He said he’d driven passengers there before, but never actually walked in himself. So in those last few minutes, I shared a little of my story — how I came to know Jesus, and how life slowly changed after that. As we pulled up to the terminal, I asked: “If you’re open to it, would you like to say a simple prayer together?” He thought for a moment. Then he said: “Sure.” And so, right there in that taxi, we prayed together. When we finished, the car had just stopped at the airport entrance. In that moment, something became clear to me: A lot of people aren’t unwilling to believe — they’ve just never had someone tell them about it. This past year, I’ve shared faith with several drivers on different rides. Five of them have prayed with me in the car and welcomed Jesus into their lives. If you’re going through a season that feels heavy and hard — you don’t have to carry it alone. There’s a God who wants to hear your prayer, and who’s willing to walk into your life. Not a religious ritual — a real, living God. If you’d like, you can pray along right now, wherever you are: — Dear Jesus, Thank you for loving me. Thank you for going to the cross for my sins. Today I open my heart and invite you into my life. Be my Savior. Lead me on the road ahead. Let me begin to know you and experience you from this day on. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen. Maybe the prayer you just said is the beginning of something new. I hope it is.
